KINOSCOPE

Kinoscope is developed as an assistive tool to help designers visualize the functional and environmental forces on the facade. The resultant Environmental Interaction Map is a visual feedback that can enable more environmentally sensitive design outputs.

It can be used as a script for grasshopper, integrating the tool in the widely used design software. Python is used to develop the script and the algorithm is based on biomimetic principles rooted in Grey-Scotts’ Reaction-Diffusion equation to provide aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sound feedback.

The resultant facade can be a static output depending on the analysis period chosen or it can be utilized to communicate with the BAS to conduct an hourly analysis and control a kinetic facade. The prototype utilizes both solutions to display the range of usability.
